Bereket Belay
Bereket Belay is a paralegal at Garfield Law Group PC, specializing in asylum and immigration cases. He supports the firm by preparing and filing legal forms, affidavits, motions, and court documents. Bereket also provides interpretation and translation services for clients, fluent in both Amharic and English, and serves as a liaison between attorneys, clients, courts, and government agencies to ensure efficient case management.
Bereket earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Government from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where he developed strong skills in policy analysis, research, and professional writing. Prior to joining Garfield Law Group, he worked as an investigator at the Children’s Law Center, handling case research and family law matters, and gained extensive experience in client service and teamwork. He also completed an internship with the City of Baltimore, working closely with the Mayor's Team, contributing to document review, policy analysis, and research projects.
Combining organizational expertise, attention to detail, and critical thinking, Bereket is dedicated to guiding clients through immigration processes with professionalism and care.
Outside of his legal work, Bereket serves as an overseer at True Vine Ministry, guiding young adults in personal growth, spiritual development, and community engagement. In his free time, he loves watching shows with his wife and playing soccer.
